Updating stairs to wrought iron

The reason why they are described as being made of wrought iron is because of their history. The earliest railings were wrought iron and this material continued to be used until the late 19th century when steel started to become popular and to replace it.

This was a very quick project that took place in less than a week from start to finish and was done on site in one day.

Once you have picked your new wrought iron spindles, you need to remove the existing spindles.

Cut each spindle only 3/4 through around the middle to prevent the stair spindle from falling out.

But more obscure areas of the home, including your staircase, can easily date or cheapen your home - even if the rest of the space has been upgraded.
